Most of the letters have been stapled together to show the original letter of sympathy and the later resulting letter of acknowledgment and thanks for the kind words of condolence. Mostly the letters speak to the contributions and respect for Johnson and his role at Lake Forest College.

This folder holds a wide assortment of member names that pertain to different groups/events such as Initial Gifts for years 1940 and 1948-Uncertain on exact description, a list of the Board of Directors, Lake Forest YWCA 1944-45, and a complete directory of the Class of 1955. It is possible these are simple documents or the type of documents that as President of Lake Forest College, Johnson had to oversee and simply became a part of the donated materials of this collection.
It is to be noted that there are 5 copies of Johnson's Ph.D. Dissertation "The Gold Policy of the Federal Reserve System August, 1914 to June 30, 1919." The other documents by Johnson discuss issues such as the Round Robin of 1942 Bulletin and opinion piece titled "Those Who Teach."
