This is a standard envelope for holding unfolded standard stationery, with a flap at one end, here in the right. In pencil Middleton has written on it at he top in large letters, "Prints for Mrs. Paepcke." Below this, centered at the addressee location it reads "R. H. Middleton / 4722 Dover St. Chicago."

Material on the Paepckes--Great books, skiing and Aspen--is found in the Marion Musser Lloyd collection.
The Paepckes' late 1930s farm southwest of Chicago designed by Walter Frazer/Frazier & Raftery and is included in a 2009 book on the architectural firm, co-authored by Kim Coventry and Arthur H. Miller (lake Forest-lake Bluff Historical Society).
